Smart scheduling and remote AI inspection software solve the biggest challenges facing the TICC industry.
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, May 8, 2024 / Newsfile Corp. / Checkfirst, a leading provider of innovative workflow solutions to the Testing Inspection and Certification industry, announced today that it has raised $1.5 million pre-seed funding. It'll deploy the new funds to develop its AI-powered platform, which facilitates remote inspection management system processes and optimizes AI scheduling.
The funding round was led by Lisbon-based early-stage venture firm, Olisipo Way and a solo GP firm, Hiero VC, with participation from Notion Capital and angel investors from SourcePoint, Busuu, Swogo, and FaceIT.
We found a major gap in the operational management of Testing Inspection and Certification companies - explained Ben Lambert, Founder and CEO of Checkfirst. “When inspectors are flying across continents, companies miss out on profit margins. Our platform solves this by matching qualified inspectors to jobs intelligently based on their location and expertise”.
Checkfirst is the brainchild of Lambert, who experienced firsthand the frustration of not being able to be present to oversee his wife’s property inspection business as they had relocated to Portugal. He noticed that final inspection reports took weeks to complete, and it was surprisingly complicated to schedule the right inspectors.
Checkfirst addresses two primary issues in the Testing Inspection Certification industry:
"We're API-first and use AI for both image recognition and automation," Lambert said; it is what makes us different. Our platform makes it easier to create complete report summaries and optimizes the entire scheduling.”
The TIC industry is facing mounting pressure to improve operational efficiency without compromising on compliance standards. Checkfirst's solution helps companies:
The company is already doing proof-of-concept implementations with several clients, including one organization with 30,000 customers.
The founders of Checkfirst have strong industry expertise. Lambert has worked earlier with Nexmo and Agora, whereas CPO Oyvind Henriksen (founder of Poq Studio) and CTO Rami Elsawy are also part of the team.
Lambert said, “We’re utilizing technology in a manner that understands how critical compliance work is, but at the same time eliminates inefficiencies in this sector.” We aim to assist Testing Inspection and Certification companies in enhancing their services to their clients while increasing their profitability.
Checkfirst offers workflow solutions for the inspection testing and certification sectors with the power of AI. The company's tools allow for a more efficient schedule of inspections, which are done remotely to save on costs and adhere to relevant compliance standards.
